PROVIDENCE, R.I. –The Brown gymnastics team will head to the West Coast this weekend for their second meet of the season this Saturday ins a quad meet against Oregon State, Sacramento State and Denver on the campus of OSU in Corvallis, Oregon.

ABOUT BROWN
The Bears opened up their season last Sunday with a dual meet at Yale, posting their highest season-opening score since 2017 (191.225). Individually, Brown gymnasts won three of four events, with sophomore Julia Bedell winning on floor (9.700) and setting a new career-high with her win on vault (9.850). Appearing in her first collegiate meet, junior Asta-Sollilja Farrell scored 9.850 on bars for her first career win. Senior Lauren Lazaro added a runner-up finish on beam. For their performances, Bedell was named the GEC’s Specialist of the Week, and Farrell the conference’s Newcomer of the Week.
Brown head coach Brittany Harris will return to her alma mater for the first time as an opposing coach, having competed for the Beavers prior to graduating in 2016, then serving as a volunteer assistant coach.
For OSU, Saturday will serve as their third meet of the season as well as their home opener. OSU scored 195.450 in their first meet, followed by 196.850 in their last meet.
Sacramento State opened its season back on January 8 vs. UC Davis with a score of 191.375. Denver has posted scores of 196.925 and 197.200 in its two meets this season, putting them at No. 8 in the nation entering this weekend.
