On Wednesday, March 15th, one of Air Canada’s new Boeing 787-9s was spotted in its full livery at Boeing’s facilities in North Charleston, South Carolina. The jet is one of three new Dreamliners ordered by the airline in 2021. These new widebodies will be Air Canada’s first new 787s in a few years, as the newest Dreamliner currently in the fleet was delivered in April of 2019.
Fight sighting
As first mentioned by BOE Family Flights, Air Canada’s newest Dreamliner was spotted on March 15th in Charleston (CHS). The site is now Boeing’s primary facility for Dreamliner production. While we don’t have an image of the exact aircraft, we anticipate that it will look identical to the airline’s other 787-9s, sporting a livery adopted in the mid-2010s, replacing the light turquoise color scheme present from the 2000s.
The aircraft is said to have the registration C-GWUU, along with the manufacturer’s serial number (MSN) 64983 and line number (L/N) 1147. As this is simply the first sighting, we can expect to see the aircraft more in the future, particularly for its battery of test flights prior to delivery.
